i am curious...what did you all do with your jw books and paraphanalia?
i carted mine around for years and kept them in boxes.
i was like afraid to do anything with them, even though i was sure i didn't want them.

i seem to remember that when there was a specific disaster, we were told we could put our donation in the world wide work box with a note attached stating it was for a particular cause (e.g.
hurricane relief work in a specific incident ) am i right in thinking that the donations are collected out of the box and banked?
do the notes get sent seperately to the branch offices?
Thanks everyone.Mystery, I live in Scotland, originally from SW England.
iiz2cool, thanks that's what I really wanted to know.

Thanks for your replies so far. In the KH I used to attend there were three contribution boxes, one for the KH, one for the 'World Wide Work' and later ,one for cell-saver machines. All money for mags, books donations from the general public (not often ), disasters etc went into the WWW box.The KH box was for the mortgage and upkeep of the KH, I know they were going into the red on that account when I left ! But who knows what happened to particular donations in the WWW box? Or does my memory play tricks ?

I know we can all imagine what might happen, but does anyone know what really happens, having dealt with this procedure ?
It has been playing on my mind lately,
Thanks in advance, Shirley. ( MP)

i had a conversation with a friend who still goes to meetings, on the subject of websites of people pretending to be witnesses in order to draw witnesses away from the 'truth'.. i suggested she looks here.. i said she should ask herself why the wt would be trying to keep people away from information.i also talked about the u.n./wts thing.. so if you're looking, welcome , and i hope you are helped by this.. a hot meat pie.

i miss mike on here.
he is one of my favorites on this board.. ken p.
Hello Mike, I am glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. My Dad had the same thing (Don't know if it was called the same ) 24 years ago,he was in Frenchay Hospital, later he had the colostomy reversed, and has been right as rain in that department ever since, he was about 60 at the time and went back to work until he retired. He is 84 now and has a healthy appetite! I know you must be feeling pretty rough right now, but chin up old chap, remember you're an Englishman!!!
Lots of love from Shirley, (Meat Pie )
the correct expression is i couldn't care less.. the idea is that you are trying to inpart total disinterest in what your opponent is trying to say.
so, you are so disinterested that you say i couldn't care less!
it's impossible for me to care any less because i'm already at maximum non caring.
' Totally decimated '
AAAAAAAAAAArgh!
It makes me want to scratch off the wallpaper!

we, as witnesses were taught to believe that our giving the "truth" to people was the most important gift we could give!
forget about giving money to charities or helping any other group out----we needed to give them the "real life".
do you find yourself giving back to the community or to others now that you're out?
I knit by hand and machine as much as I can for a charity that distributes the items to homeless people's charities etc.Its called Queen Mary's Clothing Guild. The idea is to make something for someone, which is new and made for them, not bought, to give them a sense of worth and being valued.I love it, and I feel a little guilty that I may get more out of it than the recipients do.
Also, the last time I had a visit from an elder and m.s.the E started on about the command to preach, I said that's just what I was doing to him, by letting him know what a crooked org the WTBTS is! False Religion. He looked dumb-founded.
Shirley.
hello all, here in the uk at the moment, we have the coca cola ad that has the woman walking down some steps singing 'i wish i could...' and handing out opened bottles of coke to passersby.
well during the ad there are 2 separate ,bright double flashes of light.
at normal speed they appear to be coming from her earings, but when recorded and played slowly with the pause button they are actually coming from under/behind a parked car in the near background.i doubt if they are there by accident.. they are a bit disturbing.. has anyone else seen this, and what do you make of it, or have i just been reading too many conspiracy books?.
Thanks for your replies so far.
Simple sally, I have no idea what the meaning might be, or if its sinister, but I found it a bit disturbing.I am sure not one single pixel ends up in a Coke ad that isn't meant to be there.
Confused... Excellent work!
Any more ideas?
